The now famous www.clogehrhead.com website, maintained by the Clogherhead Development Group (CDG) and its dedicated website administrator, is Clogherhead’s pioneering multi-purpose online village. It is, in a sense, the village’s 6th pub, which can be accessed from anywhere in the world by those who wish to connect with family, friends, or relatives, or, simply share in a general or specific interest in Clogherhead and its numerous splendours.
First established in 2004 by the CDG, the website and online "guest book" feature, known to the locals as the Yellow Board forum, is a proud extension of the community, and web log, enabling and accommodating community discussion, in unique colloquial style, on diverse topics, driven by local and long distance locals, who maintain solid contact and commitment to community by conversing in the colloquial style, known to locals through generations as "ramishing."
"Ramishing" folklore, the Clogherhead colloquial communicative style, is unique in character as it's steeped in old fishing village culture, with its shoot from the hip, playful and witty methods of dialogue. Ramishing stems largely from its deep rooted transgenerational origins of the still thriving and nationally prominent Clogherhead fishing industry, which, to the locals, is a proud distinguishing characteristic of the long lasting fabric of a village from olden times.
While the daily blog thrives with continued updates and diverse postings, the website is a continued work in progress as the CDG strives diligently to develop, improve and enhance site features.
Our aim is to integrate a plethora of sub-pages detailing Clogherhead as it is, with Clogherhead as it used to be. The site will ultimately feature regional business listings, classified advertisements, historic sights & landmarks, activities & attractions, restaurants & accommodations, current events, local artists' literal and musical works, and much more, and all of this, at the tips of global fingers.
To that end, all parties, including, individual, business, sports, recreational, educational, or otherwise, who may be interested to make further enquiries about our facilities, or, alternatively, list information on a dedicated page on our website, are welcome to contact us at any time by phone or email as listed below:
