OVERVIEW
---------
The Community Hall on Chapel Road, Clogherhead was once the site of Callystown National School and was built in 18XX. The building is currently leased by Clogherghead Development Group.
During 2005, Clogherhead Developemnt Group arranged funding through Louth County Council and project managed the refurbishment of the building to transform it into a clean, bright and warm facility to allow participation in various non contact activities.
The cost of the refurbishment was 138,000 euro.
The Community Hall continues to be managed by Clogherhead Development Group.

FACILITIES
----------
Main Hall - This room is XX meters long and XX meters wide (XX ft x XX ft) and is suitable for many activities. It will seat XXX people comfortably. It has a high open ceiling like all old school buildings.
Green Room - This room is XX meters long and XX meters wide ( XX ft x XX ft) and is situated at the rear of the building. It has its own entrance. The floor has a special ??? surface making it highly suitable for aerobic / activity uses.
Meeting Room - This room is XX meters long and Xx meters wide ( XX ft x XX ft). It is primarily used for meetings but has other uses for smaller groups.
Stage & Chairs - There is a stage measuring XX meters wide and XX meters deep (XX ft x XX ft). It is XX meters high and is situated in the Main Hall. There are 120 large padded comfort chairs. There are a further 200 small wooden chairs available.
Kitchen - The kitchen comprises a large modern oven with hob, dishwasher, water boiler, domestic fridge. There is a supply of delph nad cuttlery also available. The kitchen is accessible from the Main Hall and the Meeting Room.
Play - Clogherhead development Group have invested in play equipment suitable for teenagers and party groups. Currently these include pool tables (2), XXX, XXX, XXX,
Services - There are seperate toilets facilities available off the Main Hall, Green Room and Meeting Room. In addition there is a wheelchair accessible toilet and baby changing facilities available off the Main Hall.
Heating is supplied by a high powered gas burner and is thermostatically controlled.
Car Parking - There is off road parking available for approx XXX cars.
Emergency -
Fire Alarm - The building has a fire alarm installed for early detection.
Emergency Lighting - This will allow safe evacuation if necessary during evening and night time activities.
Housekeeping - Clogherhead Developemnt Group are fortunate to have the services of FAS participants to perform housekeeping duties and maintain the Community Hall as a clean, bright, warm welcoming facility.

VEC Community Adult Education Summer Schools
Are you interested in getting back into education and wish to sample some different subject areas? Have you time to spare over a few mornings in June?
Co Louth VEC is hoping to run Community Adult Education Summer Schools in Clogherhead and Dunleer between the dates of 9th and 26th June.
The following classes will take place in Clogherhead Community Centre:
Courses, Date and Times:
Pottery for beginners 9-12 June 10am -1 pm
Art for beginners 16- 19 June 10 am-1 pm
Conversational Irish for beginners 23- 26 June 10am- 1pm
To book a place on any of the courses you should contact Sinead Fearon, Community Education Facilitator, on 042-9353591 ext 24 or by email at communityedlouthvec@eircom.net.
Courses will only proceed if a sufficient number of learners are interested and a maximum number of 12 learners are allowed per class. There are no costs involved and courses are intended to cater for learners over 18 years of age living in the specified communities and the surrounding areas.
LEISURETIME GROUP
The Clogherhead & Walshestown Leisuretime Group meets every second Thursday at 2:30pm throughout the year. The cost is €3 per session. The main aim of the Group is to provide a meeting place for those actively retired. There is a relaxed exercise programme, several outings a year to local places on interest, craft classes, dancing. The Group also fund a chiropody service. The Group supports the fund raising in the village generally and make contributions towards improvements in the area.
INDOOR BOWLS CLUB
Meets alternate Thursday's to the Leisure Time Group from 2:30pm to 4:30pm, cost €3 per session. Flat shoes to be worn.
This is rapidly becoming a very popular group. The Group have recently purchased two new mats. The FAS team very kindly put the mats out for the Group for each session, which saves a good deal of time for those attending. Several of the members play at others clubs, besides Clogherhead, and we are hoping this next year to hold an open competition for visitors from the surrounding areas. New members are always welcome, even if you just want to come along and try if out for one session. The Group has many members at different stages of expertise and everybody is happy to give advice.
PARENT & TODDLER GROUP
The Group meets every Thursday mornings 10-12am.
BINGO
DREADNOTS GFC are currently running a very successful Bingo every Monday night in the Community Hall from 8pm sharp. Be there or miss out on your chance of winning BIG!
As they say 'If you're not in!, you cannot WIN!'.
BALLET
Classes are held every Tuesday, ages 3-7 from 4-5pm and ages 8+ from 5-6pm. Suzanne Bergin is organising these classes.
MODERN DANCEClasses organised by Donna Bradely take place each Friday evenings from 5.00pm.
IRISH DANCING
Classes organised by Miriam McCarthy of the McCarthy School of Irish Dancing take place on Wednesday evening from 6pm.
IRISH DANCING
Classes organised by Darina Corrigan of the School of Irish Dancing take place each Monday from 5.30pm.
