A Wine Tasting evening will be held (tonight) Wednesday 2nd December in the Valley Inn to help fundraise for the above school. Tickets are only €10 each and the event starts at 8.p.m. sharp.

St. Mary’s Drumcar Gala Evening.
In an effort to raise funds to build a much needed purpose built playground for the children attending St. Mary’s “Special Needs” school in Drumcar, a Gala Concert with Fr. Liam Lawton and Guests will take place on Friday 11th December in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk. Tickets are only €25, doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. sharp. Raffle on the night and your support to this very worthy cause would be appreciated. Clogherhead Lifeboat Station.
Our Annual Coffee morning takes place in The Presbyterian Church, Palace Street, Drogheda on Friday next starting at 10a.m. Admission is only €3

Christmas Cheer at the Station.
On Sunday next, you are invited to join the Crew and Committee at the Station for a bit of Christmas Cheer with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies. Stating at 2 p.m. it will continue until 5 p.m. looking forward to seeing you all there.

Margaret Says Thank you.
Margaret Croutear (nee Kirwan) came home to Clogherhead from Formby, Liverpool last week to visit her sister Mary Lynch in White Gables. As she thought it was a few quiet days spent with family, but true to form Mary put on a “Surprise party” to celebrate Margaret’s 70th birthday. They were joined by all of her friends and had a great night. Margaret wants to convey her sincere thanks to Mary and all who made her 70th so memorable, all that was missing was her husband Neville, but she will be back home with him on Wednesday next.

Pulse Race Triathlon.
On Saturday next 8th August, Clogherhead will host the Pulse Triathlon Club’s 1st Triathlon Race at 1 p.m.
The race is being organised by Pulse Triathlon Club volunteers with the Assistance of Clogherhead Coast Guard, Louth County Council, the Garda and Clogherhead Development Group. Starting with a750 metre sea swim followed by a 20 km cycle which commences at the Big Strand car park at Lurganboy and continues to Port-Dunany-Martinscross-Togher-Ardbolies- Hackett’s Cross and back to Lurganboy, followed by a 5km run. Cyclists will be on the course between 1 -4 p.m. Your co-operation would be appreciated at all times especially where there are “Road Closures” from 12 noon – 4 p.m. It is expected that at least 350 competitors will take part. The prize giving and celebrations will be held afterwards at the Community Hall. The races are open to all abilities and for further details please see www.pulsetri.com

St. Paul’s Parents Council Thanks.
The Fundraising Committee of the above school would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all parishioners, parents, children staff and supporters who so generously supported the School Building Fund loan gala Benefit Night at the Greyhound Stadium in Dundalk on Sat 28/3/09.

Almost €43.000 was collected to date and this will go to significantly reduce the loan. As not all pledges are fully collected we do not have a net figure at this time. We are planning an end of year celebration party at the school for all parents, children staff, parishioners and supporters as a thank you for you’re generously. Details will follow over the next few weeks. Again many thanks to all.

Day Care Centre Table Quiz.
Many thanks to all who attended and enjoyed the table Quiz held in Sharkey’s on Friday last in aid of the Ferrard day Centre which will be opened on Wednesday 18th and 25th March for training purposed prior to opening on the 1st April. Registration night for underage football will be on Friday 20th February in the Community Hall from 7 – 9 p.m. The cost per child is €15, cost per family of 2 or more children only €25. Please have date of birth and parent contact details with you on the night.

Day Care Centre Table Quiz.
On this Friday 13th February, a “Table Quiz” will take place in Sharkey’s Lounge, Main Street in aid of the “Day Care Centre” which is hoped to be opened in March in the Community Hall. This Centre will cater for the aged in the following areas, Annagassan, Baltray, Clogherhead, Sandpit Termonfeckin, Togher and Walshestown and will be opened for 1 day a week for the present time.

Any suggestions on how to raise money for the Centre would be appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you Friday night. Light refreshments and raffle on the night.

Presbyterian Service for Lifeboat.
On Sunday next 15th February, at 7 o’clock, the congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Palace Street, Drogheda are holding their Annual Service in aid of Clogherhead Lifeboat Station. Hope you will be able to join them and enjoy their service and also there will be light refreshments served afterwards.

Condolences.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the Caffrey, Johnstone and Levins family on the death of their brother James Johnstone, Termonfeckin. Following Requiem Mass, James was interred in Termonfeckin Old Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
