Presentation by Whist Players.
On Tuesday night last, the local Whist players had pleasure in presenting 3 groups with €500 each. Rev. Fr. Murtagh, PE. A.P was the first to receive the money on behalf of Clogherhead Lost Fisherman’s Memorial. Next were the Boyne Fisherman’s River Rescue and Recovery Services. This was followed by the Clogherhead and Drogheda Fundraising Committee. The money was raised by the Whist players who meet every Tuesday night in Sharkey’s Lounge and this was where the presentation took place. They would welcome new players any week. All 3 groups were very happy to receive same the money.

Indoor Bowls Competition.
On Thursday last, the local Indoor Bowls Group played their Christmas Competition in the Community Hall. The family of the late Kevin Byrne made a presentation of a Perpetual Trophy which the Group played for. This was won by Doreen Moore, 2nd was Tommy Monaghan and joint runners up were Sally Ryan and May Caffrey.
The Group would like to express their sincere thanks to the Byrne Family for their generous donation.

Choir in Walshestown Church.
There are vacancies for adults only in Walshestown Choir, who are practicing this Thursday night at 7.30.p.m. for the Christmas Services. Come along you will be very welcome.

Condolences.
Sincere sympathy is extended to the Mulroy, Devlin and Caffrey families on the death of Minnie Caffrey, Parsonstown. Minnie was interred in Mayne Cemetery on Saturday last following Requim Mass in St.Michael’s Church. Sympathy also to the Kirwan family on the death of Karina Cunningham, The Hill. Following Requim Mass in St. Michael’s on Monday last Karina was interred in St. Dennis’s Cemetery. May they rest in peace.

Mulled Wine at Lifeboat Station.

Win for Local Dancers.
Congratulations to the Corrigan/White & Miriam McCarthy’s Irish Dancers who were victorious at the recent “Ulsters” competition in Derry over the weekend. Corrigan/White dancers were: Orla Hodgins, Sara McGrane, Roisin Osborne and Rachel Howard who was chosen to dance in the “Worlds” competition in Philadelphia next year. The team won a total of 12 medals. Miriam’s dancers were: Hannah Boylan, Ruth & Helen Campbell, Shaneece Heavey, Roisin Kirk and Sinead O’Callaghan. Team win 68 medals

Dreadnots/Fechins U 21.
Congratulations to the above team won their match against Kilkerley / N.Malachi in the Semi Final Championship on Friday night last.

Gargan Family Celebrates.
On Friday 7th November last Lisa Gargan; Almondstown was married to Peter Quigley from Kells in St. Michael’s Church, Clogherhead. It brought to a close the celebrating for the family as some weeks previously Lisa’s Brother Brian was conferred with a Batchelor of Business & Event Management and also awarded the Presidents Award for Academic Excellence. Brian received his awards in DKIT, Dundalk. Many congratulations to Lisa, Peter and Brian.

Lifeboat Christmas Cards.

I.C.A. Cookery Demonstration.
Reminding you all about the Cookery demonstration hosted by the local I.C.A. Guild which will be taking place this Thursday at 8.p.m. in the Community Hall. On the menu will be Christmas starters and desserts. Adm. only €5

Anna Leigh on New TV Show.
Local girl Anna Leigh Meegan will be appearing on a new TV reality show which starts Sunday next on RTE 1. The show will run for 7 weeks, and the live show will take place in the Helix on December 1st. The show is about turning 6 Hip Hop dancers into Ballet Dancers. There is no voting on the show.

Lifeboat Table Quiz.
Many thanks to all who attended the Table Quiz Friday night last in aid of Clogherhead Lifeboat. Sincere thanks also to Noelle Hoey, Michael Coyle, management and staff of Sharkey’s Lounge and all who helped in any way. Prizes on the night were sponsored by Phil Gargan. Winning team members were: Kathleen Connolly, Sean & Alice Phillips and Ann Rath. 2nd Sean Reilly’s Team and 3rd Mary Morgan’s Team.

Dreadnots/Fechins U 21.
The above team will play Kilkerley / N.Malachi in the Semi Final Championship this Friday night in Kilkerley at 7.30.p.m.
St. Brigids U 18 will play Geraldine’s in the Minor League Final Monday next 17th Nov. Venue to be confirmed. Your support would be appreciated at both games.

Well Done O’Donnell Park.
Many congratulations to the residents of O’Donnell Park who received 3rd place in their category in the Environmental Awards, (Looking Good Louth) last week. And Clogherhead was upgraded to Gold in the Litter league. Thanks to all who help keep Clogherhead litter free.

Hospice Coffee Morning.
Eugene & Ann Crilly, Walshestown would like to extend their sincere thanks to all who attended, donated and gave help at their recent Coffee Morning in aid of Hospice.
